What Is a Needle Felt Painting?
Needle felt paintings are unusual and unique, a special form of textile art.
They are made using 100% wool which is punched into a piece of felt using a very sharp barbed needle which interweaves and condenses the tangled wool into shape. Needless to say, there is foam pad underneath to punch the needle into!
Living in Devon, Emily is inspired by the beautiful and dramatic Devon and Cornish coastlines, but being an animal lover, Emily focuses her needle felting on the beautiful animals that live around the Exmoor countryside, paying particular attention to colour, detail and depth.
